Nora Springs woman hurt in auto collision north of Mason City

MASON CITY – A Nora Springs woman was hurt in an auto collision north of Mason City on Friday afternoon.

On March 30, 2018 at approximately 1:29 PM, Cerro Gordo County Deputies responded to a report of a two-vehicle accident with injuries at the intersection of Highway 65 and 300th Street. A vehicle driven by Andrea Brumm, age 41 of Stacyville, Iowa, was traveling southbound on Highway 65 in a 2013 Ford Explorer approaching the 300th Street intersection. The second vehicle driven by Joy Beckman, age 76 of Nora Springs was stopped at intersection stop sign heading eastbound in a 1991 Ford Taurus. Beckman entered onto the roadway of Highway 65 as Brumm came to the intersection and collided with Beckman. Both vehicles left the roadway and entered the southeast ditch of the intersection.

As a result of the collision, Beckman was transported to Mercy ER by Mason City Fire with unknown injuries. She was also cited for fail to yield upone entering through a highway.

Assisting the Cerro Gordo County Sheriff’s Department was the Mason City fire department.
