CEDAR FALLS – A Charles City trucker was operating his rig when it was struck head-on in Cedar Falls this week.
Steven Hatcher, age 69 of Charles City, was driving his Peterbuilt semi westbound on University Avenue in Cedar Falls between Union and Hearst streets at about 8:03 AM Wednesday morning. Along came a 2015 Chevy Malibu eastbound on University, driving by 48-year-old Mark Hagen of North Liberty. The Malibu allegedly crossed the center line and struck the semi head-on.
Hagen, who was wearing a seatbelt, was injured and taken to Sartori Hospital.
The investigation into the accident is on-going.
