Gov. Reynolds signs 12 bills into law

DES MOINES – Gov. Kim Reynolds signed the following 12 bills into law on Wednesday:

House File 2408: an Act regulating the sale of eggs by grocery stores participating in a federal program. This bill passed the Iowa House on Feb. 26, 81-17 and the Iowa Senate on March 5, 32-17.

House File 2457: an Act relating to statutory corrections which may adjust language to reflect current practices, insert earlier omissions, delete redundancies and inaccuracies, delete temporary language, resolve inconsistencies and conflicts, update ongoing provisions, or remove ambiguities, and including retroactive applicability provisions. This bill passed the Iowa House on Feb. 27, 99-0 and the Iowa Senate on March 6, 50-0.

House File 2196: an Act relating to texting or using a mobile telephone while operating a commercial motor vehicle, providing penalties, and making penalties applicable. This bill passed the Iowa House on Feb. 21, 98-0 and the Iowa Senate on March 14, 48-0.

House File 2171: an Act relating to stopping payment on a negotiable instrument by using an electronic record in lieu of a writing. This bill passed the Iowa House on Feb. 22, 95-0 and the Iowa Senate on March 13, 49-0.

House File 2236: an Act relating to service of process made on the commissioner of insurance as the agent or attorney for service of process for regulated individuals and entities and resolving inconsistencies. This bill passed the Iowa House on Feb. 21, 98-0 and the Iowa Senate on March 13, 49-0.

House File 2238: an Act relating to the receipt of pecuniary damages by insurers as victims of insurance fraud for purposes of criminal restitution. This bill passed the Iowa House on Feb. 21, 98-0 and the Iowa Senate on March 14, 48-0.

House File 2255: an Act relating to the possession of contraband in or on the grounds of a community-based correctional facility, and providing penalties. This bill passed the Iowa House on Feb 22, 85-10 and the Iowa Senate on March 13, 49-0.

House File 2283: an Act relating to the expiration date of a license issued by the board of educational examiners. This bill passed the Iowa House on March 6, 96-0 and the Iowa Senate on March 13, 49-0.

House File 2302: an Act relating to the operation of rescue vehicles when responding to an emergency, and making penalties applicable. This bill passed the Iowa House on Feb. 20, 98-0 and the Iowa Senate on March 7, 35-14.

House File 2303: an Act relating to the duties of and programs administered by the department of natural resources, and making penalties applicable. This bill passed the Iowa House on March 5, 97-0 and the Iowa Senate on March 12, 48-1.

House File 2307: an Act relating to the sale or acquisition of certain utilities. This bill passed the Iowa House on March 6, 96-0 and the Iowa Senate on March 14, 48-0.

Senate File 2378: an Act relating to the boards of directors of public corporations, and including effective date provisions. This bill passed the Iowa Senate on Feb. 27, 50-0 and the Iowa House on Feb. 27, 98-0.
