Algona police report numerous burglaries and thefts this weekend

ALGONA, IOWA – Algona police today are reporting numerous burglaries and thefts this weekend and are warning citizens to be vigilant.

According to Alonga police, on the evening hours of March 10, 2018 through the early morning hours of March 11, 2018, a group of individuals went to numerous residences in Algona, entered unlocked garages and unlocked vehicles and stole bikes, tools, cash and misc. electronics.

As a result of this illegal activity and to prevent future crimes, police are asking all residents of Algona to ensure that they secure their vehicles and garages.

To help catch the possible criminals in this case, police are requesting that anyone who has property from State Street to Oak Street, from Thornington to Phillips Street that uses any type of surveillance cameras, to please contact the Algona Police Department at 295-3515, so that any video can be reviewed in order to develop suspects.
