MASON CITY – A knife-wielding man was arrested after a chase at a Mason City house.
Mason City police were called to 1730 North Federal Avenue on Thursday afternoon, January 25 at about 2:16 PM on a report of a man with a knife chasing someone out of the house. Officers arrived to investigate the domestic incident and after an investigation, arrested 28-year-old John Jay Hein on a charge of domestic abuse assault display or use weapon – 1st offense.
Hein was taken to the county jail and held on $5,000 bond as a judge imposed a no-contact order. He’s due in court February 2.
