EMMET COUNTY – A Northern Iowa woman was recently caught with illegal drugs and taken to jail.
A Spirit Lake woman was arrested December 19th on drug charges as the result of a traffic stop in rural Emmet County. According to Emmet County Sheriff Mike Martens, a sheriff’s deputy conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle in the 4800 block of 130th Street west of Dolliver for a traffic violation. Upon investigation at the scene controlled substances and paraphernalia were located in the vehicle. As a result of the traffic stop the driver of the vehicle 36 year old Jennifer Nielsen of Spirit Lake, Iowa was placed under arrest and charged with possession of a controlled substance (marijuana), unlawful possession of a prescription drug and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Nielsen was booked into the Emmet County Jail and later released on a $2000.00 unsecured bond.
