Iowa prison inmate Eddie Chest dies

CORALVILLE – Eddie Chest was pronounced dead due to natural causes at 9:10 a.m. on Thursday, December 28, 2017 in a hospice room of the Iowa Medical and Classification Center where he had been housed due to chronic illness. Chest was 79 years old at the time of his death.

Chest had been serving a 25-year maximum term for the crime of Attempted Murder (707.11) and a 25-year maximum term for the crime of Robbery 1st Degree (711.2) from Dubuque County. His sentence began on January 21, 2011.
