Four people die in Iowa house fire Christmas morning

BLUE GRASS, IOWA – Four people have died in an Iowa house fire early Christman morning, police say.

On December 25th, 2017 at approximately 12:34 AM, Blue Grass Fire Department, Buffalo Fire Department, the Scott County Sheriff’s Office, Buffalo Police Department, the Blue Grass Police Department and Medic EMS were dispatched to a structure fire at the 300 block of Salem Street in Blue Grass.

Four people were inside the home at the time the fire started. One of the occupants was able to exit the residence and was transported to the hospital but later passed away. The three other people that were inside the home were unable to escape and perished inside. It has been reported that the person who escaped the house fire later passed away.

Names of the victims are not being released at this time.

The State Fire Marshal, Scott County Sheriff’s Office, and Police Investigators are still searching for clues as to the cause of the fire.
