BETTENDORF – Sophomore Jaycob Payne scored 11 points with nine rebounds and four steals to lead the NIACC men’s basketball team to a 95-58 victory over the St. Ambrose University Junior Varsity on Saturday.
Freshman Izaya Sims scored 12 points for the Trojans, who also received 11 points from Nick Wurm, nine points from Orrington Hamilton and eight points from Harrison Mills.
Wurm dished out eight assists and collected five rebounds.
NIACC improved to 10-2 for the first time since the 2013-14 season when the Trojans finished 20-11.
NIACC returns to action Sunday at the Augustana College junior varsity. Game time is set for 1 p.m.
