WASHINGTON, D.C. – In the wake of scathing remarks about working-class Iowans and their spending habits, U.S. Senator Charles Grassley has been excluded from the conference committee that will work out the final so-called tax cut bill between the House and Senate.
Senator Grassley made the announcement Thursday morning. Pandering to President Donald Trump, Grassley complained, “@realDonaldTrump I’m the most Senior member of Senate Finance Comm I was dropped as Conferee So I won’t be in front line fighting for what u and I believe to cut taxes.”
Regarding what Senator Grassley “believes” about tax cuts and who deserves a break, his position was made clear days before he was excluded from the committee when he told the Des Moines Register “those that are just spending every darn penny they have, whether it’s on booze or women or movies” were in some way inferior to a tiny percentage of persons who stood to gain from a cut in the estate tax in the proposed tax bill.
Grassley, 84, has been a United States Senator since 1981.

I believe he is talking about the welfare crowd who do not work and pay no taxes so they could care less – BUT ! He is right now doing a mighty good job with his judicial committee inDC to exposing the swamp rats who have committed felonies against out government and it’s honest citizens.
It’s a shame he isn’t on the committee as he is one of the best US Senators we have. I know the loony liberals won’t give him any credit but the most Iowans do. He will be re-elected easily!
Resign, Grassley. Or we’ll do it for you in the next election.
You have been saying that for years and can’t get it done. He will retire when he is ready.
He wasn’t going to run again anyway. That’s why he doesn’t care what he says any more.
You clowns have been saying that forever, and it never happens. If he decides to run again he will win. The only way you will ever replace him is if he retires.
Just how you Republicans like them, career politicians working for the rich and only for the rich.
