FT. LAUDERDALE, FLORIDA – The Iowa women’s basketball team remains undefeated after a win Thursday over Charlotte, lead by former Mohawk Mackenzie Meyer’s 17 points.
Iowa is off to its best start since going 7-0 in 2010.
After trailing by as many as 12, Iowa outscored Charlotte 23-8 in the second quarter to take a lead into halftime that they would not relinquish in winning 77-64.
Former Mason City Mohawk Makenzie Meyer scored 17 points for Iowa and alls contributed 7 rebounds and 1 steal.
Other Hawkeyes in double figures include: Megan Gustafson (23) and Tania Davis (11).
Junior Megan Gustafson registered her sixth double-double of the season (23 points, 14 rebounds). It marked the 33rd of her career.
Iowa registered 26 assists on 32 field goals. Sophomore Makenzie Meyer (7), sophomore Kathleen Doyle (6), and junior Tania Davis (5) accounted for 18 of Iowa’s 26 total assists.
