Iowa law enforcement seize 77 lbs. of pot in traffic stop

Evidence seized by Woodbury county sheriff

SIOUX CITY – Illegal pot from Colorado valued at over $400,000 and weighing in at 77 lbs. was seized by Iowa law enforcement this past weekend in a traffic stop.

During the early morning hours of Sunday, November 19, 2017, a Woodbury County deputy conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle in Sioux City. During the course of the traffic stop and a subsequent investigation, Woodbury County deputies requested the assistance of a Sioux City Police Department K-9 unit. The K-9 indicated on the vehicle, which led deputies to execute a search warrant. Deputies located approximately 77 lbs. of marijuana and other related material with a street value of approximately $450,000.00.

Darrel Allen Wait, age 34, of Thornton, Colorado, was arrested and charged with Possession with Intent to Deliver Marijuana, Two counts of Possession of Marijuana, Possession of Prescription Drugs, Drug Tax Stamp, and Prohibited Acts. Wait is currently out on bond (released from jail).

As marijuana emerges from prohibition across America it will be legal in Iowa in the future. Obviously this guy did something highly illegal. It will haunt him in the future as even though it will be legal then it is still showing disregard for the law. The wine industry in California is now swooping in and wrestling control of the Industry from everyone who hopes to get rich. Once it is in the majority of states Uncle Sam will step in and tax the piss out of it. You heard it on NIT first. lol
