IOWA FALLS – The NIACC men’s basketball team moved to 4-0 with a 91-61 win over Harper College on Saturday at the Dale Howard Classic on the Ellsworth campus.
It is the second straight season that the Trojans have started the season 4-0. The Trojans started last season by winning their first six games before falling to Iowa Western.
Saturday’s win was the 150th career win for NIACC coach Mark Mohl, who moved his career mark to 150-129. Mohl is in his 10th season as coach of the Trojans.
NIACC returns to action at home next Saturday against Iowa Western.
Meanwhile, for the second straight day, the No. 9 NIACC women’s basketball team cruised to an easy victory at the Dale Howard Classic on the Ellsworth campus.
A day after routing Milwaukee Area Tech (134-45), the Lady Trojans rolled to a 121-28 win over Harper College to improve to 4-0.
Sophomore Taylor Laabs scored a career-high 27 points and sophomore Kelsie Willert matched her career-high with 20 points.
NIACC returns to action next Saturday at home against Iowa Western.
