Swaledale woman hospitalized after collision Wednesday in Mason City

MASON CITY – A Swaledale woman was hurt Wednesday afternoon after a two-vehicle collision in Mason City.

On October 25, 2017 at 3:02 PM, Cerro Gordo County deputies responded to a collision near a private drive at the 12000 block of 265th Street (Highway 122). A 2008 Kenworth tractor trailer driven by 30-year-old Mitchell Young of Lakeville, Minnesota struck a 1996 Chevy Blazer driven by 66-year-old Judy Fessler of Swaledale, Iowa. The Mason City Fire Department also responded to the scene of the accident. Mrs. Fessler was transported by a friend to Mercy hospital for unknown injuries. Mr. Young was cited for Failure to Stop within an assured clear distance.

The Cerro Gordo County Sheriff’s Department was assisted by the Mason City Fire Department.
