ANAMOSA – An Iowa prison inmate was seriously injured after an attack by another inmate this week.
At approximately 5:44 PM on Monday, October 23, offender Michael Waddington was found unresponsive in the kitchen area of Anamosa State Penitentiary. Jones Regional Medical Center was notified and an ambulance arrived at approximately 5:55 PM. Offender Waddington was taken to Jones Regional Medical Center first and later transported to University of Iowa Hospital and Clinics where serious injuries from an altercation are being treated. Offender Waddington remains hospitalized at this time.
Offender Claude Breese was the other offender involved in this altercation. All other offenders believed to be involved have been segregated and a full investigation is under way. There were no staff injuries during this incident.
