CLEAR LAKE – A Clear Lake man is guilty of assault after he threw another man down a flight of stairs and pummeled him, causing serious injuries.

The alleged assault took place at Bikerz Bar, 313 Main Avenue in downtown Clear Lake on January 15, 2017. After 2 AM that morning, 56-year-old Bruce Otto Bonorden allegedly pushed a victim causing the victim to fall face first down a flight of stairs. Clear Lake police tell NIT that Bonorden “continued to assault victim and caused serious injury.”

The victim – who police believe was acquainted with Bonorden – was hospitalized for several days. They are not sure how the fight started.

Bonorden was later arrested on a charge of felony willful injury. He entered a not-guilty plea in February.

However, Bonorden later pled guilty to a reduced charge of assault with intent to inflict serious injury. He was sentenced in October to 365 days in jail with all but 30 suspended. He must also serve 2 years of probation and pay $1,127.25 in fines and court fees.

He is just another animal who beats up on others drunks. Just the kink of trash we don’t need here.

Just another punk who can’t handle his booze.

He is actually a good guy

Unless he’s been drinking.
