Mason City man hurt after rolling pickup truck into ditch

RURAL CERRO GORDO COUNTY – A Mason City man was hurt after rolling his pickup truck into a ditch Saturday.

On September 30, 2017 at about 1:01 PM, the Cerro Gordo Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of a single vehicle accident South of Mason City at about 200th Street and Highway 65.

The driver, 79-year-old Arthur Ades of Mason City was southbound on Highway 65 when he went off onto the shoulder of the roadway. Ades overcorrected causing him to lose control of his 2006 Toyota Tundra and go into the west ditch coming to rest on the driver’s side. Ades was wearing his seatbelt at the time of the accident.

Ades was transported to Mercy Medical Center North Iowa to be evaluated by Mason City Fire Medics.

The accident remains under investigation.

Assisting the Cerro Gordo County Sheriff’s Department was the Iowa State Patrol, Rockwell-Swaledale EMT’s, Rockwell Fire Department and Mason City Fire Medics.
