Clarksville woman dead after auto accident

RURAL CLARKSVILLE, IOWA – A Clarksville woman is dead after auto accident Tuesday morning.

According to the Iowa State Patrol, the accident happened Tuesday morning, September 12, 2017 at about 7:58 AM, 2 miles outside Clarksville, Iowa on county road C-33.

David W. Kramer, age 81 of Clarksville, was eastbound on C-33 in his 1988 Ford F-250 pickup truck when he slowed and attempted to turn left into a private farm drive. At the same time, 49-year-old Dannette D. Hildebrand of Clarksville was following behind in a 2009 Jeep Wrangler when she attempted to pass Kramer on the left. Instead, the vehicles collided, causing the Jeep to roll numerous times.

Hildebrand, who was not wearing a seat belt, was killed in the collision, the patrol says.

The accident remains under investigation by authorities.

Assisting the Iowa State Patrol was the Butler County Sheriff’s Department, Clarksville emergency responders and Waverly Ambulance.
