Mason City woman busted on theft charges twice in one day

MASON CITY – A Mason City woman was accused of two separate theft incidents and jailed.

A Mason City police officer was sent to the Fareway grocery store, 400 North Delaware avenue, at 11:22 AM on July 21 for a shoplifter. As a result of an investigation, 37-year-old Sarah Michele Ridge of Mason City was arrested for fifth-degree theft and taken to jail. Ridge was also wanted on an out-of-county warrant at that time.

Later in the day, Mason City police took a theft report from Reflections Salon, 21 1st Street NE, about a theft of services that had occurred on July 14. Ridge was already in custody at the jail when she was charged with a second fifth-degree theft charge for that incident.

Ridge has been released from jail pending a court date. She is also facing crimes in Mitchell county.
