Iowa woman dressed in camo robs pharmacy at gun point

COUNCIL BLUFFS – An Iowa woman seeking painkillers draped herself in camouflage, got armed and then robbed a pharmacy.

On July 21, 2017 at approximately 12:05 PM, Council Bluffs, Iowa police officers responded to the Medicap Pharmacy at the CHI Health Clinic at 2201 West Broadway for a report of a robbery that just occurred. An employee of the business reported that a white female, wearing camouflage clothing, entered the business and proceeded to the pharmacy counter. The female produced a handgun and pointed it at an employee, demanding painkillers. The employee retrieved several pill bottles and placed them on the counter for the suspect. The female then fled the business, running from the area on foot.

With the assistance of Pottawattamie County Sheriff’s deputies, the suspect was apprehended a short time later running in the 2100 block of 2nd Avenue. She is identified a 42-year-old Council Bluffs resident Carrie Anne Tripp. Tripp is currently in police custody at the Pottawattamie County Jail charged with felony third-degree robbery and felony first-degree theft. Officers recovered all of the stolen medication, along with the weapon used, which turned out to be a pellet pistol.
