CLARION, IOWA – An Eagle Grove man who was accused of child porn crimes has had all those charges dismissed, but now faces new charges.
Jason Marvets, age 30 of Eagle Grove, faced five felony charges related to sexual exploitation of a minor for being in possession of child pornography. The arrest of Marvets was sparked by a tip to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.
Those charges were dismissed on June 30.
However, soon thereafter, new charges were brought against Marvets. The charges include extortion and 10 charges of possession of child pornography.
As a result, Marvets remains held on $50,000 bail as he awaits a July 21 arraignment.
