MASON CITY – A Mason City woman with a history of theft convictions was sent to jail after her latest heist attempt.
Diana Lynn Hampton, age 63 of Mason City, was caught stealing in Mason City on April 23. Due to her past history of criminal activity, she was charged with third-degree theft. However, in a plea deal, she was guilty only of fifth-degree theft. She was sentenced to three days in jail and $225.00 in court fees and costs.
Hampton was guilty of fifth-degree theft in Mason City back in earlier this year, and in 2010 and 2006.
