Two hurt in Clear Lake auto shop mis-hap

CLEAR LAKE – Two persons were hurt today in Clear Lake in an auto shop mis-hap involving an airbag and a trailer.

The Clear Lake Fire Department was dispatched to Tony’s Tire at 2406 15th Avenue North at approx 11:51 AM for a report of a trailer falling on male subject. Clear Lake Fire Department responded with 1 ambulance with 2 medics and 1 rescue truck with 6 firefighters. Once on scene, it was determined that an airbag blew injuring 2 subjects. One was injured by the explosion of the airbag, the other was injured when the trailer fell on his hand. One subject was transported to Mercy Medical Center North Iowa by Clear Lake Fire Department, the other subject was transported to Mercy Medical Center North Iowa by Mason City Fire.

Both injuries are non life threatening. The CLFD did not name the injured persons.

Clear Lake Fire Department was assisted on scene by the Clear Lake Police Department and Mason City Fire Department.
