CLEAR LAKE – A Clear Lake construction worker with a violent history is back in the slammer after his latest attempt to perfect this craft.
Clear Lake police responded to a domestic assault on June 4, 2017. As a result, officers arrested 45-year-old Jason Henry Hoff of Clear Lake on a charge of felony third or subsequent offense domestic abuse assault. Hoff was taken to the Cerro Gordo county jail and held on $5,000 bond as a judge set a no-contact oder between him and his alleged victim. While in jail, Hoff allegedly committed upwards of 15 violations of the judge’s no-contact order; each could cost him 7 days in jail if convicted. He awaits a court date.
Hoff is a convicted domestic abuser who has been sent to an Iowa prison to serve time for his previous crimes. He is also at this time facing a felony drug charge out of Clear Lake and a charge of interference with police causing bodily injury. He has entered guilty pleas in that case.
