ESTHERVILLE, IOWA – An Estherville man allegedly broke into a house and stole a safe, leading to his arrest on a felony charge.
On May 26, 2017, the Estherville Police Department were dispatched to 420 South 13th Street regarding a burglary complaint. The victim reported that he was missing a safe which contained cash, change, and personal papers. During the investigation, Estherville Police were able to determine that the perpetrator gained entry to the residence by cutting a screen located on the front of the residence. Police were then able to develop a suspect in the case and eventually located parts of the broken safe outside of another residence in Estherville.
As a result of the investigation, Estherville Police arrested 18-year-old Felipe Padron of Estherville. Padron was charged with Burglary a class “D” Felony. Padron was seen by a Magistrate and is being held on a $5,000 cash or surety bond.
