Law enforcement at scene in Hampton, Iowa Wednesday

HAMPTON – State patrol and local police were at a house in Hampton Wednesday, conducting an apparent investigation that appeared to have involved a fatality.

Hampton chief of police Robert Schaefer tells NIT that he cannot comment at this time, but a report from a person at the scene was available:

“One state patrol and two Hampton police, including police chief Schaefer have been on scene at the corner of 6th street NE and Central avenue east for approximately 2.5 hours. Chief Schaefer could be seen with a camera and gloves on. A medical examiner showed up … followed by a grey van assumed to be from a funeral home. One male exited and went into the residence. He later came out with the state patrol officer and brought in a gurnee. Ten minutes later, they all came out with a presumed deceased person. Police briefly talked to a couple of people before going back inside. The residents looked visibly upset and were seen consoling each other. After the medical van left, the residents then left followed by the state patrol and police cruisers. Police were at this residence yesterday afternoon for a call but it’s in known what it was about. They were there about 40 minutes and possibly left with someone in their cruiser but they did not appear to be under arrest.”

  1. No illigals were involved he was a good local, Iowa raised man with a loving family and young children

    1. Probably illegals involved. The presence of so many illegals is embarrassing to law enforcement and courts. At my website is a thread documenting all the illegals in jail and their charges. Almost never are their crimes covered by local media. See my example below about one Osiel Moreno. His case is typical. For another example of how courts cover up embarrassing crimes look up Sarah Root. She was murdered by drunk and street racing illegal. Bail was set very low so he was able to disappear, avoiding any trial publicity. That is common.

Liberals, this is not about race, Hispanics are classified as White race. This is not about Hispanic-Americans, they are NOT illegals. This is not about Hispanics in general as illegals come from all over the world. Every crime committed by an illegal is a crime that happened because illegal immigration was encouraged for years. Americans are not the only victims, many migrants are abused or killed trying to reach jobs in our country. Greedy employers, corrupt officials, and supporters of illegal immigration have the blood of many people on their hands.

      1. Seriously what is your obsession with osiel moreno. I am part of his family and he for one is not an illegal. Meth is an evil drug and it messes with people’s minds. He is facing his consequences. As for not reporting the other people involved, maybe it’s for their protection. Judge away early judge away.

  2. Please explain what happened if you don’t like the media attention. Police and family keeping everything secret makes it suspicious. Just like the victims of Ankeny shooter. He was seen shooting into drivers side of a car in front of witnesses. Victims never identified, their condition never reported. Shooter had a cut down (SBR) assault rifle, silencer, handgun… despite pleading guilty to dealing meth.

  3. the whole story is wrong I was there that was my family it is disrespectful for some ass hole to be posting this shit

    1. How is the story wrong? There’s an ongoing investigation into the death of someone. That’s a fact. And if you’re a relative that was there, I’m sorry for your loss, but please correct the story instead of just say it was wrong.

Another fact is that there were police there two days in a row

      1. Well for one there was no investigation they saw how he died and it’s disrespectful to post it before the family is notifyed first

    2. Please give your side of it. Police investigations that are kept secret raise a lot of suspicions. I’ve noticed that crimes by illegals almost never get written up. Despite them being found on jail inmate lists all the time. Is your family a bunch of illegals? If not then dispel suspicions by explaining what happened.

      1. Did anybody stop to think that maybe family has not been notified? And just maybe the family is trying to comprehend the fact that they lost a member of their family and are probably upset. I’m not sure why you automatically assume anybody is illegal. The news does report on people of all races when it’s something newsworthy.

        1. So someone is deceased, state patrol is there, and there is nothing reported anywhere. Other tragedies are broadcsast before relatives are notified, why is this different. ?

          1. SO SOMEONE IS DECEASED? Wow, maybe there is an ongoing investigstion. Or maybe family asked for some time. You know like the poor kids that died in mason. Maybe it was just NATURAL CAUSES….do you need to know everyone that died in their home?

        2. It is common with similar situations to have reporting on investigation without names. Often followed up by update with names. The news blackout is suspicious. If nothing happened then let law enforcement say so. Or let the family member posting here explain.

      2. Are you right in the mind sir. Why would you accuse someone of being illegal. Which more than likely you and your ancestors are. Think of the family which you are talking about which happens to be mine. I think you have an unjust mind. Hope you can sleep at night

        1. Follow news posted to IowaNews thread. Illegals end up in jail for crimes all the time yet they are rarely reported on. For a good example search for Osiel Moreno (Jr). He was busted for dealing meth in Hardin County. He was busted for multiple weapons charges after being seen shooting into a car in Ankeny. Identity and status of victims never revealed. His guilty pleas and sentencing appear to never have been reported on. Coverage of crimes by illegals is almost non-existent. Only North Iowa Today and a few other small outlets cover crimes by illegals. So it is natural when law enforcement spotted yet little or no reporting to suspect another cover up. As to my ancestors immigration.. all came here legally. Which a lot of people in Iowa can not say.

    1. Exactly. There is no expectation of privacy especially if it’s in public view. You want privacy stay inside, right?

    1. Totally AGREE. Not sure what happened but it is disrespectful! No matter what that person has loved ones. Sorry for the loss of a loved one. May you find peace.

    2. No more disrespectful then showing coffins of deceased service members, or law enforcement officers on national news. They were somebodies relative to. Besides, most people don’t even know who it is. If, you know, and don’t like the comments and video, you should set the record straight. It’s news, inquiring minds want to know.

      1. By the time they’re in a coffin family has been told and had time to grieve a little. If you really want to know, cause its like really any of your business, then wait. You must lead a very boring life though.
