MASON CITY – A Mason City man who was guilty of a crime in connection to violence against a woman as she held a small child caused a disturbance at a local booze shop and ran from police.
Mason City police were called to Liquor Tobacco & Grocery, 18 North Monroe Avenue, on Friday, April 28 just after 10 AM. An officer witnessed a disturbance outside the store, and a subject, 36-year-old Manuel Trevino Hernandez, ran from the officer. However, he wasn’t quick enough to evade capture, and he was caught after a short foot pursuit. He was taken to jail on unknown charges.
Back in 2014, Hernandez was accused of beating up his girlfriend as she held a small child. He took a lenient plea deal and pleaded guilty to only aggravated public intoxication, charge he has faced a number of times. He’s also been accused of felony stealing a car, felony robbery, felony theft, felony willful injury, and much more. Mot of those charges ended in favorable plea deals for Hernandez.
He appears to be free from jail at this time.
