Mason City woman sent to jail for stealing; faces charges in Manly

MASON CITY – A Mason City woman was sent to jail for stealing from a convenience store.

Mason City police were called on January 13, 2017  at about 1:31 PM to Hy-Vee Gas, 1503 4th Street SE on a report of a theft.  After an investigation, officers later arrested 26-year-old Lesley Gale Foster on a charge of third-degree theft.  Later, the charge was amended to fifth-degree theft.

Foster entered a guilty plea in March to fifth-degree theft.  She was sentenced to 2 days in jail and ordered to pay $490.18 in court fees and costs.  She is serving her jail sentence this weekend.

Foster was caught stealing back in 2013 in Mason City and put on probation for a year after she pled guilty in 2014 to third-degree theft. She still owes $291.00 in that case.

Currently, Foster is facing two counts of third-degree theft after charges were brought by Manly police earlier this year.
