Fight at max security room leads to charges against accused murderer

MASON CITY – A fight in a maximum security room at the Cerro Gordo jail has led to charges against an accused murderer.

An inmate fight was reported on April 5 at about 8:14 PM in a male maximum security day room, Cerro Gordo Sheriff Kevin Pals tells NIT.

“After the investigation inmate Peter Veal was charged with serious assault,” he said. NIT is told Veal punched another inmate, causing an injury that required attention.

Veal is facing two counts of first-degree murder. He allegedly killed Mindy Kavars and Caleb Christensen using a gun and/or possibly another weapon. Right now, the courts are trying to determine his competency to stand trial. He remains jailed.

Veal, Peter Leroy

Someone should put this Dumb Ass out of our misery!

Put someone else in his cell that can use deadly force if attacked. There is no crime for defending yourself and this family has been a menace to north Iowa for years now. Would save the taxpayers of Iowa a lot of money in the long run.

Lets see – democrats say add 6 months on to his life sentence – case closed as susan lice would say.

put him in a small room and purge it with carbon monoxide.
