MASON CITY – A Mason City woman is in jail serving a sentence after she was caught drunk driving two times.
On December 4, 2016, after 2 AM, law enforcement stopped a vehicle for an equipment violation near the 100 block of 15th Street SW in Mason City. As a result of the traffic stop, the driver, Jahnya Aubrey Schinagel of Mason cIty was arrested on a charge of first-offense operating while intoxicated.
Then, Schinagel was caught drunk driving a second time, again by a Cerro Gordo deputy. She was charged with second-offense operating while intoxicated.
Schinagel later pled guilty to both charges in a plea deal as other more minor charges were dismissed. She must serve a total of 9 days in jail, and pay fines and court fees of $1,951.50 and $2,641.25. Her driver’s license is also revoked.
