MASON CITY – A Washington state man was caught drunk driving in Mason City early Thursday morning.
A Cerro Gordo county deputy stopped a vehicle after 2:00 AM at 2117 4th Street SE Thursday morning, April 6, for a traffic violation. As a result of the stop, the driver, 35-year-old Christopher Scott Benavides of Kittitas, Washington, was arrested on a charge of first-offense operating while intoxicated. He was taken to jail, booked and apparently released soon thereafter.
