SHEFFIELD – A Sheffield apartment complex burned Sunday.
The Sunrise Homes, located at 313 2nd Street in Sheffield at the south end of town caught fire. Mainly elderly folks live there, NIT is told.
A fire fighter told NIT “We did get called to provide mutual aid to Sheffield fire department. As far a I know no one was seriously injured but all of the tenants were out by the time we got there.”
No further information was immediately available.
The fire was started because an 83 year old man left his supper burning on the stove. KIMT has the best coverage on this incident, neither the Globe or NIT bothered to follow up about the cause.

Name calling? Very intelligent and mature approach. If it’s just a question then why come off so aggressive? “Where the hell were the firemen?” Comes across pretty disrespectful…like anyone needs to explain themself to you.

How the hell did this whole place burn up?? Where were the firemen?? Must of been electrical and started every unit on fire????
Hey cockroach you understand it’s a VOLUNTEER department right? Those fire fighters have lives, jobs and families. They aren’t just sitting in the station in full gear waiting for a call 24/7. Do you know their response time? I didn’t think so. How far had the fire progressed before they were on scene? How many of those guys had to leave their jobs and families? I’m sure you can’t comprehend the hours sacrificed by these VOLUNTEERS to do the job they do. Maybe until you are right there with those guys and given as much as they have you should keep your disrespectful comments to youeself.
