ELDORA – An Eldora man was arrested for at least his third domestic abuse assault – a felony – and then quickly released from jail.
Eldora police arrested Andrew Carl Stonebraker, who claims to be an artist, after an alleged incident on March 14. Stonebraker was taken to jail on charges of obstruction of emergency communications and third or subsequent offense domestic abuse assault. He was held briefly before a judge set a no-contact order and released him.
Records show Stonebraker – who has a lengthy criminal record – was arrested in 2014 for felony domestic abuse, took a plea deal to second-offense domestic abuse and was given a short jail term with most of the sentence suspended. He soon violated his probation and was ordered to undergo a psychological evaluation and was sent back to jail.
