SWALEDALE, IOWA – A woman who completed drunk driving school less than a year ago was busted once again and jailed.
A caller in Swaledale reported a suspicious vehicle in their driveway on the evening of March 1. A Cerro Gordo deputy responded at about 10:50 PM to 10149 130th Street and encountered 34-year-old Casidey Jo Bertram of Sheffield. After an investigation, Bertram was arrested on a charge of second-offense operating while intoxicated. She was taken to the Cerro Gordo county jail and later released, pending a court date.
Records show that Bertram was busted by Hampton police in 2015 for drunk driving and pled guilty the next year. She paid over $1,800 in fines and court fees and was sent to drunk driving school, which she completed in April of 2016. She was awarded a certificate of completion.
Should do Jail time, wonder if judge knows shes driving others vehicles, still drinking in bars, and putting children’s lives in danger. Grow up!

Mercy nurse currently in jail for drunk driving 2nd time too. You’d think they’d learn. Embarrassing.
Being a nurse doesn’t hold much weight anymore. It just means they sat through two years of classes and passed an elementary level exam. Spend a night at Mercy, and you will see your care-givers are mostly scabs and drunks/drugee’s.
I disagree with that. Where there might be a few nurses who don’t care I have not seen them. The nurses are the best part of being in the hospital. Most are very caring and helpful.
I agree with you about caring nurses. I just don’t understand how they do what they do and their lives are a wreck. The minute she gets out, she will be having someone drive her around so she can get blitzed again. I guess if your personal life doesn’t conflict with your professional life, that’s okay….. hopefully when they’re drunk they’re not spreading confidential information about patients……that could be where their problem destroys their profession. Sad 🙁

Didn’t say she WAS a nurse. Said there was a Mercy nurse in jail last week for 2nd OWI too. “too” (meaning also). Point was having 2 drunk driving charges in a short amount of time….
They need to do jail time, obviously not learning a damn thing
