Mason City woman sent to jail for theft and attack on Walmart employee

MASON CITY – A Mason City woman is guilty of theft and assault charges after she allegedly assaulted an employee at Walmart during a heist.

Victoria Marie Cunningham, age 47, was arrested for fourth-degree theft back on December 26, 2016 after taking over $300.00 in items from Walmart without paying for them. Mason City police say that an assault charge was filed after Cunningham assaulted an employee in an effort to escape after she was detained. The injury was not serious and did not require hospitalization.

Cunningham was later found guilty of both charges. She has been sent to jail for 2 days, and is now in the Cerro Gordo county jail serving her sentence.

WHERE’S THE BEEF????

The way the economy is in the private sector I am surprised there is not more of this going on.

hope the MCPD arrest the right person this time because last time in a case like this is cost the taxpayers of Mason City over $130,000.
