Fort Dodge man hurt after accident in Cerro Gordo county

MASON CITY – A Fort Dodge man was hospitalized Friday in a single-vehicle accident in Cerro Gordo county.

Cerro Gordo deputies were dispatched Friday, January 13 to a single vehicle rollover accident with an injury at Yarrow Avenue and 150th Street. A white 2014 Toyota Tundra, owned by FarmChem corp, was being driven by 33-year-old Anthony Henning of Fort Dodge. Henning was traveling southbound on Yarrow Avenue when he approached the T-intersection at 150th Street and was unable to stop at the stop sign due to the icy and snow covered road. The vehicle continued to slide through the intersection and entered the south ditch, where it flipped and came to rest on the driver’s side of the vehicle. Henning was trapped until Dougherty Fire came on scene and was able to hold open the passenger’s door for Henning to crawl out of.

Henning was transported to Mercy ER by Mason City Fire for possible facial injuries. An investigation is continuing into this incident.
