MASON CITY – Newman Catholic senior Elizabeth Mennen signed a national letter of intent on Monday to run track and field at NIACC starting in the 2017-18 school year.
Mennen said she visited some other colleges, but said NIACC felt at home to her.
“This just feels right,” Mennen said. “It feels really good.
“I’m relieved and excited I get to continue my running career. I’m looking to improve my speed.”
Mennen said staying close to home was also important to her.
“I wanted to be close to my family and friends,” she said. “I know some people already there that I have competed against.”
