RIVIERA MAYA, MEXICO – The Iowa women’s basketball team competed well against the tenth-ranked UCLA Bruins but lost a game in Mexico to them Thursday, 78-65.
Former Mason City Mohawk Makenzie Meyer played 13 minutes but didn’t score. She had one turnover.
Four Hawkeyes scored in double figures, however. They include: Ally Disterhoft (16), Tania Davis (13), Megan Gustafson (16), and Hannah Stewart (10).
Sophomore Hannah Stewart tied a career high with 10 points and pulled down a career-high six rebounds.
Senior Ally Disterhoft has now reached double figures in 84 of her 90 career starts.
UCLA led 42-38 at halftime.
Iowa plays James Madison Friday, November 25, 2016 at 9:00 PM, continuing in the 2016 Cancun Challenge.
