NEW HAMPTON, IOWA – A man wanted in Minnesota was caught in Chickasaw county and a search uncovered dangerous weapons.
On Saturday November 5, 2016, at approximately 10:00 PM, Chickasaw County Deputies approached a vehicle parked at the intersection of U.S. Highway 18 and Gilmore Avenue. The deputy stopped to render assistance to the driver. A license check of the operator, Lucas Alexander Delorenzo, 28, of LaCrosse, Wisconsin, showed an active warrant out of Houston County, MN. Delorenzo was then placed under arrest on the warrant. A search of Delorenzo’s person resulted in the deputy finding 2 concealed knives on his person which exceeded 8″ in length. Delorenzo did not have a carrying weapons permit.
Delorenzo was charged with 2 counts of carrying weapons and possession of drug paraphernalia. He remains held in the Chickasaw county jail at this time.
