NIACC’s Block is co-ICCAC volleyball player of the week

MASON CITY – NIACC sophomore Liv Block has been selected as the co-ICCAC volleyball player of the week for the week of Sept. 12-18.

Northeast CC’s Kelsey Shoemaker shared the honor with Block.

Block recorded 12 digs against Iowa Central on Sept. 14. She also had 27 digs with four ace serves against the Grand View Junior Varsity on Sept. 18 and tallied 16 digs with two assists and two ace serves against the Waldorf University Junior Varsity on Sept. 18.

Block is fourth in the ICCAC with 243 digs and tied for 12th in the league with teammate Jackie Bleifus with 20 ace serves.

Block has 676 career digs, which ranks sixth on NIACC’s career list since the 1998 season.

NIACC (11-4 overall, 1-2 in the ICCAC) returns to action Wednesday in a conference match at No. 4 Kirkwood. The match starts at 6:30 p.m.
