Iowa State drops third-straight to open season, loses 41-20 to TCU

logo_iowa_state_cyclonesFORT WORTH, TEXAS – Iowa State dropped its third-straight contest to open the 2016 season, losing to TCU in Fort Worth by a score of 41-20.

Mike Warren rushed for a season-high 95 yards and Joel Lanning rushed for two scores, but it wasn’t enough for the Iowa State Cyclones to overcome the TCU Horned Frogs Saturday. A rushing touchdown by Lanning ended ISU’s three-game streak without a rushing score, but TCU built a 24-7 halftime lead that ballooned to 31-7 later.

Iowa State is 0-3 (0-1 in Big 12 conference play) for the first time since 1997.

Iowa State plays San Jose State next Saturday in Ames in their last non-conference game.
