
FORT DODGE – Robbers held a convenience store clerk at knife-point Thursday morning at one Fort Dodge store, then minutes later, went and robbed another store before tips led to their capture by police.
On August 18, at approximately 5:20 AM, a call was received through the Webster County Law Enforcement Center indicating that an armed robbery had just taken place at the Yes Way convenience store, located at 115 North 22nd Street in Fort Dodge. Officers with the Fort Dodge Police Department responded to this incident and did receive important information pertaining to the description of the suspects involved in the robbery and their method of transportation. The victim of this incident reported to have been held at knife point while the suspect demanded money and later fled the store with an undisclosed amount of cash.
While still investigating this initial robbery incident, a second call was received through dispatch at 6:27 AM, indicating that a second armed robbery, by knife point, had just occurred. Fort Dodge Officers responded to the Casey’s General Store located at 1230 3rd Avenue Northwest where they received very similar suspect and transportation information as compared to the first robbery call.
Through the hard work of police officers and with exceptional witness assistance from multiple Fort Dodge citizens, two suspects have been located and taken into custody as part of a safe and quick resolution to these incidents.

Landon John Baker (19) of Fort Dodge – 1st Degree Robbery (two counts) – B Felony

Martay Lee Thompson (19) of Des Moines – Aiding 1st Degree Robbery – B Felony
