ESTHERVILLE, IOWA – A wanted Minnesota man came to Iowa and attacked a youth at a park who was talking to a woman, and police were quick to respond.
On August 17, 2016 at approximately 12:41 A.M. Estherville Police were contacted by Avera Holy Family Hospital in regard to a Juvenile Male who had been assaulted in Estherville. Upon Investigation it was determined that a 16 year old male juvenile was speaking with a female at North Joe Hoye Park. During the conversation another male arrived and attacked the Juvenile male.
During the course of the investigation, Estherville Police were able to identify the male attacker as Lazarus Thomas, age 21 of Fairmont. Thomas was taken into custody and was charged with 1 count of Serious Assault and 1 count of Interference with Official Acts. It was also discovered that Thomas had an active arrest warrant from St. Paul, Minnesota for Possession of a Controlled Substance.
Thomas is currently being held in the Emmet County Jail for the St. Paul Authorities.
