RURAL MASON CITY – A Mason City man was taken to a hospital after his car slammed into a tree in a rural area near  campground.

Antuan Dmitri Worthy, age 23, was driving his 2000 Buick Century eastbound on Falls Park Drive from Thrush Avenue, towards the Camp at the Woods campground (and the Shell Rock River) Saturday afternoon around 5:21 PM. As he traversed a curve, he lost control of his vehicle to the right side of the road and slid broadside into a tree on the driver’s side.

Worthy, who was wearing a seatbelt (and was arrested last week in a fight at Buffalo Wild Wings), was taken by Mason City fire medics to Mercy Hospital with undisclosed injuries as a result of the crash.

Iowa Sate Patrol was assisted by Cerro Gordo sheriff’s office, Plymouth fire, and Mason City fire medics.
