MASON CITY – A Mason City woman has been arrested on a drunk driving charge as well as other infractions of the law.
An Iowa State Patrol trooper stopped a vehicle driven by Nicole Lynn Cooper, age 39, at about 10 PM June 8, 2016.
As a result of the traffic stop, Cooper was charged with failure to obey a stop sign; no insurance; failure to obey a traffic control device; open container of alcohol; and first-offense operating while intoxicated.
Cooper was taken to jail on this charges and soon released, pending a June 24 court date.
Four days after that court date, Cooper will face a trial for third-degree theft on June 28 after an arrest by Mason City police back on February 15.
Earlier this year, on January 10, Shopko employees reported a female had fled from employees after allegedly stealing some items there. Cooper, allegedly stole at least $10 or more of merchandise. She left the area in a vehicle that was parked outside in the fire lane. Offices applied for an arrest warrant for Cooper charging her with 3rd Degree Theft, enhanced due to previous theft convictions. She later pled guilty to that crime and was sentenced to 6 days in jail and ordered to pay $181.00 in fines and court fees.
