NIACC’s Lentz earns third-team all-American honors

niacc_trojans_logoMASON CITY – NIACC sophomore Savannah Lentz has been selected as an NJCAA Division II third-team all-American becoming the school’s 12th women’s basketball player to earn all-American honors.

It is the third straight season that a member of the NIACC women’s basketball team has been selected to an NJCAA all-American team.

In the 2013-14 season, Chelsey Jacox was a first-team selection, Lateeka Thompson was a second-team selection and Cortni Rush was a third-team selection.

In the 2014-15 season, Sierra Ford-Washington was a first-team selection.

Lentz, a 5-foot-6 guard, is NIACC’s career 3-point leader with 171. She connected on 87 3-point goals in her sophomore season and made 84 3-point goals as a freshman.

Lentz averaged 13.8 points per game this past season and helped lead the Lady Trojans to the NJCAA Division II national tournament for the second time in three seasons.

Lentz scored 695 career points, which ranks 15th on the school’s all-time career list. She also accumulated 138 career rebounds, 82 career assists and 73 career steals.
