NIACC’s Glendinning earns ICCAC player of week honor

MASON CITY – NIACC sophomore Robbie Glendinning was selected as the ICCAC baseball co-player of the week for the week of March 28-April 3.

Iowa Central outfielder Junior Gomez shared the honor with Glendinning.

Glendinning became NIACC’s career hit leader in Sunday’s doubleheader sweep of DMACC.

Glendinning has 151 career hits heading into this weekend’s ICCAC series at Kirkwood.

In Glendinning’s six games last week (4 vs. Southeastern and 2 vs. DMACC), he batted .416 with two doubles, three home runs and 10 RBIs. He also scored seven runs and drew five walks.

In the second game of Sunday’s doubleader against DMACC, Glendinning was 3 for 5, including two home runs, and three RBIs.

Glendinning is hitting .449 (44 hits) with 11 home runs and eight doubles. He has 39 RBIs and has scored 33 runs.

Glendinning is NIACC’s all-time leader in doubles (35). He ranks second on NIACC’s career home run list (19). He’s also tied for sixth with 93 RBIs, tied for second with 107 runs and ranks fourth with 358 at-bats.
