Mason City man sent to jail for a week for second drunk driving conviction

MASON CITY – A Mason City man has been sentenced for drunk driving for a second time.

A Cerro Gordo deputy assisted the Iowa State Patrol with a traffic stop at 2:38 AM on February 27, 2016, near the 3900 block of 4th Street SE in Mason City. After an investigation, the driver, 29-year-old A Noble Walkner, was arrested and charged with second offense operating under the influence. He was guilty of drunk driving back in 2009 after an arrest by Mason City police.

In March, Walkner and his public defender entered a guilty plea to the charge against him. A judge sentenced him to 7 days in jail and $2,641.25 in fines and court fees. Walkner is in the county jail now, serving his sentence with work release.
