MASON CITY – Police arrested a Mason City man in connection with a domestic abuse assault case.
Officers with the Mason City Police Department arrested 57-year-old Mark Anthony Gladwell after 2 AM on April 1 at a North End house. Gladwell had been arrested at the same house back in August of 2014 for felony domestic abuse assault involving strangulation. He later pleaded guilty to a lesser charge of first offense domestic abuse assault and was placed on probation.
Gladwell was accused of violating his probation last week, leading to the arrest warrant. He remains held on bond until a hearing set for April 25.

Strangulation cases should NEVER be pled down. The next step is murder.
