GARNER, IOWA – A Garner man is on his way to federal prison for 6 years for numerous crimes.
On January 19, 2016, the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Iowa sentenced Brett Greiman, age 34 of Garner, to 42 months in federal prison on the charge of unlawful user of a controlled substance in possession of a firearm.
This federal prison sentence will run concurrently with a 7 year indeterminate sentence he received in Iowa state court for domestic assault, child endangerment, and possession of methamphetamine convictions, all adjudicated in Hancock county. There is no parole in the federal system, but state sentences are many times shortened.
The federal court ordered Greiman to serve 3 years under probation supervision following release, and the court directed him to comply with drug and mental health treatment.

I don’t know where the information for this article came from, but I sat in the courtroom as this young man was sentenced and most of what is written here is False information. Very disappointing as most will believe these statements to be true. Let’s hope this young man gets the help he needs instead of twisted comments and judgement.
Came from the county attorney’s office. I feel like that’s a pretty solid source. Thanks for the comment.
Uh, perhaps you called the wrong prosecutor’s office. The article references a federal sentencing in federal court for federal crimes.
The prosecutor is the United States Attorney’s office fofr the northern district of Iowa, in either Sioux City or Cedar Rapids, not the Hancock County attorney.
And btw–“There is no parole in the deferral system” should read there is no parole in the “federal” system.
Don’t worry. Marquardt is illiterate. Hence why he was fired from the globe. He also posted this being a domestic abuser himself. He probably dealt drugs with this guy as well. No good reporting found here.
The facts are:
1) I quit the Globe Gazette on August 17, 2006 (call them and ask)
2) I have never been accused of a crime in my life (see court records for proof)
3) I have never taken an illegal substance in my life
4) The story is 100% accurate
Anonymous trolls will spread lies; that is the nature of the internet, and I get it. Even cowards like yourself get the cover of anonymity to lie and think they get away with something. Facts are facts, though.
Any other questions?

Keep acting like a clean citizen Matt. You abused your wife. Hence the restraining order. Get a life.
Never married, but keep trying if you see fit. The legal entanglement you refer to was a civil issue involving a child custody dispute, nothing more.
